1/18 Ferrari F40 1987
The Ferrari F40 is one of the most iconic and celebrated supercars ever built. Unveiled in 1987 to mark Ferrari's 40th anniversary, it holds the deeply significant distinction of being the last car personally approved by Enzo Ferrari before his death in 1988. Designed by Pininfarina and engineered by Nicola Materazzi, the F40 was built with a single purpose in mind — pure, uncompromising performance. Its bodywork, constructed largely from lightweight kevlar, carbon fibre, and fibreglass, is raw and aggressive, featuring a prominent rear wing, NACA ducts, and a signature transparent engine cover revealing what lies beneath. At its heart sits a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 478 bhp, making it at the time the fastest, most powerful production car Ferrari had ever made. It could sprint from 0–60 mph in under 4 seconds and hit a top speed of 201 mph — the first road-legal Ferrari to break the 200 mph barrier. Inside, there is no luxury to speak of — no carpets, no door handles, no radio. Just bare carbon fibre, racing harnesses, and a focused driving environment that made the driver feel every sensation from the road. Only 1,315 examples were built between 1987 and 1992, and values have soared ever since, cementing the F40's status as one of the greatest and most desirable cars in automotive history.
